Our latest news from PJS

Things are a little different here at PJS as we approach the summer while on lockdown, but we can assure you that the team are working together online, safely and continue to support our clients with forthcoming projects in every way.

As consultant engineers we work primarily on projects that require creative solutions for land development and thanks to our clients we continue to challenge ourselves to create design solutions for future developments in the UK. With so much disruption in the world, it is always nice to deliver some positive news, and so we wanted to share what the team have achieved over the last quarter and look at the progression of these future developments to come.

New clients, project approvals and even more collaborative projects…

As ever we really enjoy working with some of the UK’s national house builders and are delighted to see so many approvals for future developments coming through. This quarter we have seen a large increase in uptake on our land pre-acquisition due diligence, including the reserve matters planning permission on Clays Lane, Branston for Peveril Homes.

We are delighted to extend our portfolio working with new clients like Davidsons (South Midlands) as well as Bellway Southwest. The team have been working closely supporting Persimmon Homes East Midlands Grange Road in Hugglescote with their planning packs and equally excited about collaborating with innovative Ilke Homes, who design and supply sustainable, precision-built homes in Nottinghamshire.

Closer to home, on our doorstep the Melton Road scheme, in Edwalton where our geotechnical team started last autumn for Bovis Homes Mercia region continues and our land development team are now working on detailed designs for both the Bovis Homes Mercia parcel and Davidsons parcel.

Our work with Bovis Homes continues to grow, and we are delighted with approvals for the Western region, which include technical approvals for phase 1 in Hunts Grove, including S38 and S104 and are delighted to be instructed further to be part of the team in developing the phase 2 planning application. In addition, an update on their development in Twigworth, which is estimated at £195 million and comprises 725 dwellings, has now received the reserve matters planning for phase 1 and the S104 technical approval for offsite sewers. We are now beginning to work on the Phase 2 reserve matters submission. Last but not least in the West Midlands we have received technical approvals for the scheme at Collingtree for the S104 and S278 work.

Managing Director Paul comments “I am so proud of the team and their dedication to PJS as a whole and it is reflective in the achievements the business has already been recognised for.”

The team just keeps growing…

Firstly, we would like to welcome Vinny and Nicholas to PJS, both join our geotechnical division, working alongside Dave and Martin and bringing our full team now to 10. While Vinny specialises in the geo-environmental services of our business Nicholas joins us a graduate engineer having completed an MSC in Environmental science at the University of Derby and is our fourth employee now to highlight our commitment to investing is future graduate engineers.  Welcome on board!

We have now settled in to our new head office and management surprised the team with a brand-new boardroom table with a twist! Well, being engineers there no fun if you can’t get creative.  What better way to have a little breakout space and fun then to have a Pool table instead. Perfect for creative meetings, rainy lunch time breaks and a little healthy after work competition. Our leader board is in pride of place for all to see in the office, and as its stands Dave is in the lead all waiting to win the coveted PJS waistcoat.

While our social events are on hold for now I am sure when we are back to the head office our competition will commence again as well as a little golf at some point.
